Sticks & other expert opinions, New SBR ?

Im looking to purchase my first SBR.
Unfortunately I live in Michigan (for now) and the closest thing I can have to a SBR is an AR PIstol.
I want to purchase a Top of the Line Firearm (LWRC or maybe Noveske).
These are two of the companies that are producing AR Pistols at this time.
I was also thinking of possibly having a Top AR Gunsmith building a customized AR Pistol for me with all the very best parts.
I dont care about the cost just want a Top of the Line weapon and when I move or Michigan decides to change their Law I will get my Stamp and turn it into an SBR with a stock.
Im not an expert so I would not try to build it my self, I would prefer a 8" or 8.5" Barrel in either 6.8spc or 300 Blk.
Im just looking for some good feedback on either purchasing a LWRC PSD Pistol or Noveske with an 8.5" Barrel.
Unfortunately some things would need to be changed with both of these companies AR Pistols.
Noveskes Pistols are not built exactly the same as their Rifles, I believe LWRC's PSD Pistol is very similar to their PSD-SBR but I would want to put on a longer Buffer Tube which Im not sure is possible.
Any Information or reviews on the LWRC Pistol would be great or on LWRC in general (Not that familiar with LWRC).
If I could get a Top of the Line AR Gunsmith/Builder referred to me then I might just have it built with all the Best Parts.
Like I said I would not be able to or want to even try to build it myself at this time.
Any helpful feedback would be appreciated.

The first thing would be to nail down the caliber you want. Personally, I would go with 300AAC BLACKOUT, we are going to see that caliber become more and more popular. I would stick with a gas gun and avoid a piston, I've used 300AAC builds from AAC and Noveske, and both have been flawless. I would lean towards Noveske for my own needs and uses based on their barrels and ability to give multiple offerings/ configurations.

I was also planning on eventually getting a 2nd Upper in 6.8spc.
Can you recommend any High End 6.8 OTM ammunition?

Silver State Armory and Hornady make top notch 6.8 SPC Ammo. Hornady is also making 300 BLK ammo along with some other companies. For an SBR that short, it is hard to go against the 300 BLK.

I believe Remington has 4 or 5 versions of 300AAC out currently, and are getting ready to release another 6. Whether you are looking for subsonic or supersonic, I think they are going to have what you need. I see a massive growth in this caliber very soon, and it appears we are already seeing the start of it.

Thanks guys, I have been speaking with Joel at Noveske quite a bit and he also recommends the 300blkm
I think I will go with the 300blk.
Can you tell me how the 300blk recoil is compared to the 5.56 and the 6.8.
Also I checked with my normal Ammo Dealer and they don't carry any 300blk or 300whisper, do you know the best places to purchase that 300blk (OTM) Ammunition?

In my experience the 220 grain subsonic load is only slightly stouter recoil than stnadard 5.56, if at all. The 123 grain was noticeably stouter, but they don't make that anymore. I suspect that the current 125 or any other supersonic offering will be similar in terms of recoil.

The only current ammo offerings I know of from Remington at these two.

Damn. $34 for Remington OTM ammo? I thought the selling point for the 300 BLk was the AFFORDABLE AMMO? I thought RSilvers learned from the mistakes of the Remington 6.8 SPC.

I would not EVER expect to see anything that would qualify as "affordable 300 BLK" in my book. Everyone's definition of "affordable" will vary though.

For an SBR that short I would go with the 300 BLK as mentioned. I just got a Noveske 8" barrel the other day and a Troy TRX Extreme 9" and Troy Claymore will be used temporarily until my suppressor gets here. For ammo, Robert has been saying that "affordable" stuff is coming in November at an MSRP of $12.99 and that's why I went with this cartridge. Hornady currently has 300 Whisper ammo in 110gr and 208gr A-MAX which I ordered from my local gun store for about $22-$23 a box. It is made to fit in 300 BLK chambers.

I'm thinking I may have to shave down the ribs of my PMAG because it's harder to seat than .223 ammo. It's also harder to seat on an open bolt too so...

300AAC is just getting rolling, new caliber development and ammunition distribution doesn't happen overnight. I know what Silvers is shooting for (no pun intended), and I'm very aware of the backing behind this project.

I've seen that number used too. It's still pretty steep depending on your use/firing schedule. Hopefully $13 MSRP means $11 retail, and maybe once there is a quantity of brass available some affordable, quality, reloads will surface.

On paper the round and the project has a lot of potential, but even with over 1k rounds downrange, most suppressed and subsonic, I still haven't decided if that paper has a place in my book or not. Which shouldn't have any sway on other people's choices, intents, and opinions, but which seems to attract a lot of negative reaction nonetheless.
