Fortis Manufacturing was founded just over a year ago and is currently manufacturing two products, the Multi-Point Sling Adapter (MPSA) in both left and right hand models and the Rail Attachment Point (RAP). This review will cover the RAP.

The RAP is a very low profile and lightweight option to add a Quick Detach (QD) Sling Swivel to anywhere you have two free Picatinny (MIL-STD-1913) Rail sections available. The RAP is made of 6061 Aluminum, is hard coat anodized to a deep black finish, and is rotation limited.

The RAP is easily attached to your rail section using a 9/64" hex wrench and can be purchased with or without a QD Swivel.

The MSRP of the RAP is $24.95 without the QD Swivel and $34.95 with the QD Swivel.

While testing out the RAP, I found that placing it directly in front of an optic (EOTech in this case), worked out nicely as the RAP was placed directly on the top rail. While running drills, I found that the RAP held up nicely and placed the front point of my two point sling in an advantageous location and allowed me to grip the rail at any position without getting in the way or hindering my grip.

While the Fortis RAP is not the only QD Sling Mount that you can find on the market, it is one of the lowest profile mounts available and at a reasonable price point that is at or below the normal for comparable mounts out there. Additionally, with the capability of the QD being able to be mounted on the side of the mount, you can attach the RAP to the top section of your rail which is especially nice if you are running a tubular rail system and do not want to have to add additional rail sections to the side rail.
