Griffin sights are fine, but the attachment method with the set screw is a major turnoff.

The sights themselves are very nice. Solid “clicks”, very high quality fit and feel, easy install. I played with both configurations: regular and angle mount. There weren’t instructions to accompany the configurations/set screws but it was pretty obvious how things went together.

Will be zeroing them tomorrow so I can’t really give more info yet

The traditional “top of rifle” location has one set screw and that’s fine, no issues. The angle mount set up has two set screws and my only issue is that it’s not simply a “mount and tighten” operation; you have to make sure the screws are even so there’s no cant or tilt to the sight.

My only other complaint is a functional one. I use a Griffin SNACH charging handle, and in the angle mount configuration of the rear sight is folded/stowed, then it interferes with the right side ambi lever of the charging handle (would interfere with any, not just the SNACH). This would NOT be an issue for slick sided uppers with no forward assist because you could simply mount it where the FA would be.

Thanks for the information. This is good info to pay attention to. I don't have BIUS right now but soon will. The set I have coming will go on my SBR that only has an Aimpoint on it right now.

I will be putting mine top mount. But that sounds kind of off that they would design BIUS that would have interference like that. Your post got me to go look at their youtube channel. If you look at the video and pause it at the 20 second mark you see how they have theirs stowed.

Even on theirs in the angled set up it looks like your fingers might hit the sight post when stowed. If your scope has different eye relief or is mounted to the rear just one extra notch it will hit for sure. I could see interference depending on the mount, the scope, and other factors.
