Question New Site for 3D-printed Weapons Designs

A while back some guys called Defense Distributed were making a ruckus in the industry by trying to commercially develop 3D-printed weapons. They got some backing from a large manufacturer of 3D printers, who then backed out once Defense Distributed started getting some press (you know how it is ...)

They've started a new site dedicated to 3D-printed weapons designs. I think this is pretty exciting. Just look at what Handl Defense is doing with a new PMag-compatible SCAR lower receiver. I've seen this 3D-printed prototype trotted around a lot lately; perhaps it proves the industry is moving in that direction. Yeah, this is a prototype but at some point I believe 3D printed parts will be "good enough" and maybe even stronger than their metal counterparts. The science of polymer & plastics is advancing all the time (e.g. Magpul, anyone?)

Looks like they have come along way. there last prototype fired 6 rounds before breaking. That to me is a success. I don't think I would be brave enough to try it at the moment but maybe in the future after they have perfected it a little more.
