U.S. Optics, Inc. to Introduce Most Versatile Rifle Optic Ever at 2013 SHOT Show

Lightweight Scope Offers Exact Dimensional Accuracy in Low-Profile, Durable Package
Brea, CA – January 7, 2013 – U.S. Optics, Inc., manufacturers of the world’s finest rifle telescopes for military, Law Enforcement and civilian use, have announced that they will be debuting their newest rifle optic, the SR8 (1-8x30mm), which is proving to be the most versatile and rugged short to medium range rifle optic ever, at their booth (#20031) at the 2013 SHOT Show, in Las Vegas, NV.
Featuring the new 8:1 zoom ratio, the SR8 can be used similarly to that of a red-dot reflex sight at true 1x, making it one of the first variable power optics with a true 1x magnification. The SR8 allows this while providing threat identification and engagements at distances in excess of over 800 yards.

The optical clarity of the SR8 is achieved through a precision-engineered lens system, with advanced lens coatings for superior performance in the harshest conditions. With the simple push of a button, a Second Focal Plane (SFP) red-dot can be turned on and used in total daylight, while the First Focal Plane (FFP) reticle allows for ranging and the MIL knobs and reticles offer exact dimensional accuracy.

As with all U.S. Optics scopes, the SR8 is constructed of Type III hard-anodized 6061-T6 aluminum; making it extremely durable and lightweight. Combined with the low profile sleek design, the new SN-8 makes for a snag free tool in all shooting situations.

“At U.S. Optics, we work hard to ensure that we provide the best optical solutions to our customers,” said U.S. Optic’s Vice President of Sales And Marketing, Dave Roberts. “As an American manufacturer, we take pride in delivering the best products and meeting the needs of our war fighters, first responders and civilian customers.”

    SR8 1-8x Specifications:
    • FFP Reticle
    • Reticle Choices - C2 or CDMIL
    • SFP Illuminated dot
    • Reticle Lighting - Blue/Red/Green
    • Elevation Knob - 2/10 MIL zeroing
    • Windage Knob - 2/10 MIL zeroing
    • Tube - 30 MM
    • Total Travel - 100 MOA
    • Parallax Control - Fixed at 100 Yards
    • Field of view at 100 Yards at 1x = 83.25 Ft
    • Field of view at 100 Yards at 8x = 10.75 Ft
The SR8 is just one of the many products that are scheduled to be on display at the U.S. Optics booth during the 2013 SHOT Show. The company will also be premiering its full production line of rifle scopes.

They make good optics, but claims like the thread title just make them look bad.

It says "low profile" and "lightweight", but (and I admit to having a hard time with the wall of white text on a black background) but do they give the length and weight?

If it has all of those features and it is somewhat affordable, it should be one of the better scopes in its class.

Great to see you on a forum again Rob!

In regards to the new USO offering, most agree that they need to do away with the PB illumination settings and go to a dial to allow fast adjustment of the illumination.

The Leupold I have has a pushbutton, and I'm inclined to agree.
