Correct. That particular cap came off of a .308 barrel. But really, even the barrel extension caps are just these.
A buddy of mine and I split a bag of 25. They work well and have held up. Once you have the ID to match the Scout, they're very snug. Unfortunately he bought red when he got them, so they will require a little spray painting.
