We are all okay. Basement a bit damp due to the power going out and sump pump kicking off, but it's nothing that hasn't happened before. Went out and bought a Generac tonight for situations like this. This summer is supposed to be like this a lot.
Here are some shots that the local paper took.

ride4frnt, you take some great outdoor pictures for an amateur! Sorry to hear about the rain, I didn't know it was flooding season where you are, or is it out of the norm?

My mom ordered me a couple cool gun shirts recently. So when I saw this I thought I'd surprise her.
She is who got me into photography. I think she'll dig it. Thought I'd share.

EXTREMELY out of the norm. Parents have lived here since 1960 and it hasn't happened in their lifetime. The town actually got federal aid for cleanup and rebuilding, etc. The buildings you see that are flooded in those pics are almost all total losses, they are all now condemned. Most of them were private residences, a bar and a liquor store, and some historical buildings and town owned buildings.

Pssst, tac40...you've got the wrong kind of jacket...
Seriously, though, where did you get the wings? Those aren't the standard Exchange design and they're different than the gold ones I have from the Museum.

Spent 3 days at a wolf rescue facility in southern Colorado and came out with a ton of potentially interesting images.
This is Abraham, a member of Mission Wolf's ambassador pack.

If you go, plan on spending at least one night there - they have open space for tents. Wolfsong is the 2nd best wake-up call you'll ever receive.
The ambassador pack is their outreach program, so you can interact with members of that group in controlled circumstances. Here's one of the pack greeting a staff member during a visitor interaction.
Wolves aren't shy - they french kiss total stangers to say hello. Wolf etiquette demands exposed teeth and direct eye contact while receiving a greeting. Maggie, the matriarch of the ambassador pack, is insistent on good manners. Rumor has it, people have ended up on the ground (still being licked) because they didn't open their eyes
