I didn't even know rubber could crack so bad like that.
Anyhow, I posted it to their social media. Looks like some other people have had issues with their shoes wearing out prematurely. Hopefully they work on some better quality materials.

Out to pasture? Where ya throwing your hat? If there's a Survival Flight in the area, check them out. Their selling point is they only do scene runs and hot loads. They also go after guys with mil experience over commercial flight schooling.

I had some Timberlands that did almost that identical same thing. Also, sharp shards of rocks in desert floor, while hunting, finished them off. I'm sure I had less than 30 miles, if that much on them. Wrote company twice (before email days). Never heard back from them. Not sure what happened to them, defective batch, I suppose.

Thanks! Waiting on the offer letter from an Air Ambulance company (should be getting it this week, given the proposed class date). I thought I had a contract position setup where I could keep flying the same Navy aircraft doing the same instructing for a few more years, but that evaporated. Such is life.

Congrats GD, you made it! I know for me, retirement was bittersweet. But at the same time it felt like the entire world was lifted from my shoulders. One thing I saw way to often, was guy's retiring on Monday, then sitting on a barstool at the NCO club on Tuesday, reminiscing about the "good old days". Been in a NCO club once for a Navy friend's retirement party. The good part is you're still young enough to squeeze another retirement in, even if it's an early one. Then you don't even have to get out of bed (that's a weird feeling) until you damn well please.
Seriously, congrats, and thanks for your service!
