Loss of Freedom - Bragging Rights?

I saw this on two different networks. One reported it in such a way that it just sounded like any other news cast 60 second spot. The other cable outlet "reporter" sounded jubilant, almost orgasmic over this news.

I know that probably the first thing that will come to most readers minds, here, will be 2A, but 2A wasn't even mentioned, by either outlet.

Subject: States with loss of most personal rights. Please, read that again, we now have states that vie for top spot for loss of personal rights? That's where my mind focused, and that's when it became apparent to me that this is a trend, not a fluke, and is gaining popularity.

Top five states: Hawaii, California, New Jersey, Rhode Island, and New York.

A point was also made that there was somewhat of an exodus to Red states, known more for keeping hands off of personal freedoms, especially those covered under the Bill of Rights.

Two different reporters had two different takes on this. One lauded the "exodus" basically saying good riddance and it would be good for job seekers, in their respective states, that being "less people equal more jobs".

The other reported that the gaining states, especially far north states such as ND would welcome desperately needed job skills, especially technical, medical and others.

Wow, this country is going down hill and it saddens me. I find it almost fortunate that I'm on the "down slope" of life, as far as age, and won't be around to see this mess in twenty or so years, or will be so old that I just won't care.

P.S. Top Spot for most free state (I still can't believe I'm saying "most free state", shouldn't all 50 be?) is North Dakota.

I would not be surprised to eventually see an exit tax, or a fee (for taking "intellectual property") to leave the enslaved states.

Funny you should mention that. I am retired and moving from New York City to Texas, I am a consumer. I spend my money locally when I can. So now I take my money and I am getting money from the state because I am retired and I am leaving. I will be spending my money in Texas. So whatever money the state of New York pays me is not being recycled into the state anymore.

Why am I leaving? Simple, the city has nickeled and dime'd me to death. Everywhere I go they try to squeeze as much out of me as they can. I can't live here on a fixed income anymore unless I live poor. I am not poor by the standards of the USA. Yet in this place now I am. I have seen in my lifetime 2 nice neighborhoods be destroyed by poverty.

I lived in a nice middle class area and in a descent apartment building. It is now owned by slumlords, it is overrun with vermin and people who cannot pay their rent without assistance. Drug dealers abound, loud music all the time, even a shootout a few weeks ago in front of the apartment house.

Not to mention the constant phone calls from various entities. I thought the Governor stopped those calls, he turned out to be a real phony, Cuomo. You cannot even own a handgun or AR15 in this state now. So only the police and the criminals have guns.

2 weeks more and I will never see New York again. Goodbye and good riddance.

Hope your happy. I live in KY, and we are probably one of the most free states in the union. We have our abuses of public assistance, i.e., food stamps, rent assistance, etc.. and that will always go on to some degree, but we're not enslaved by liberal democrats, our guns are considered part of our heritage, and although the out-of-state big money meddlers in KY politics spend their money here trying to push their socialist agenda here, the have little or no success. Big money 2A anti's primarily just filter more money that we can use anyway, into our states coffers. The lunatic left has not figured out that although we are heavily democrat, that they are "blue dog" or conservative democrats. I'm lucky that I'm here. I throw my AR's and pistols into the back of the truck and cruise to the range without a worry. All is good.

Me and my family are trying our best to get out of my home state (Florida) because of the heat, high humidity, heavy traffic, expensive housing, high taxes, invasion of illegal immigrants, ect. and since she has a Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering she's had a lot of job offers in liberal-demorat anti-gun states, but she quickly turns them down because she's very pro-gun & pro-freedom.
