    NorthTech Defense Billet Lowers

Northtech Defense has made another run of their Billet AR15 Lower Receiver. I personally like to call this version 2.5. The first generation had the small Northtech Defense Logo, which was updated in the second generation with the larger logo and front serrations. The last version appears to have slightly different ( more aggressive ) front serrations A Different font was used for the magazine release side. Also the Magwell Flare is now on the front and rear instead of just the sides. I will have to confirm other changes if any. Also looking forward to their soon to be released Billet Upper.

Looking at your images, it appears that the entire front side has been subtly altered. The area under the pivot pin is cut differently, even before machining the serrations on the front face. The front lip of the magwell seems angled differently, making the flare thinner in the front. The bevel on the vertically running corners may be angled off more.

All combined, these changes appear to make the front surface more "cupped" to provide a better grip surface on the leading edge of the receiver. Not sure that it would make a practical difference, but it does make an attractive lower

Yes, this is a pretty aesthetically pleasing lower. I have the last version and the changes are subtle.
