Old School ... when Para first came out. I asked Robar to NP3 the frame, and Black Roguard the slide. I added the TB when I got the TiRant can.

As an aside, out of all the internet influencers lately, I get the biggest kick out a kid named Eli Duckworth. He'd blow this place up if we had some traffic. He's the self-proclaimed Gen Z, do-it-all guy at Alchemy Custom Weaponry and has a presence under the handle 1776_Duck on Instagram and the Tube. Dude is 26, doesn't drink or smoke and looks like he's pushing 50! Not a knock, he's just mature for his age and identifies as a Gen Xer, IMO. His opinion on pistols is if you can't carry a steel gun, you need to get your testosterone levels up and I agree. He takes shit occasionally on 1911 addicts for being the ACW guy, but that's one I hope to get soon; it's got a cool, retro vibe.

Anyway, to make a long story even longer, he's made himself a historian of some decent merit and gushes on the 80's comp guns. The end.

Hang in there, buddy. One day you'll wake up, absolutely needing a 1911 with every fiber of your soul and those plastic guns will become more and more meaningless. I'm thinking about selling my Glocks, but probably not the HK's, to help fund an ACW Prime Elite, cut for an SRO and it's gonna be f**king exquisite!

Thank you. I did some odd things back in the late 70's and 80's. That Commander served me well. Carried it (without the comp'ed barrel) played games with it comp'ed. Never let me down. I gave it to my Son - GriffonSec.

There's a discussion about that type of comp on the 10-8 discord chat. That would quiet the commander bark nicely, but it's not a good idea for an HD gun, or is it? I'd think that blowhole would be blinding in a night fight! I need to dredge up the gumption to get my Combat Commander done. Only holdup is I'm still waiting on Brownells to get their checkering jig back in stock so I can grab one. Also need to blend the beavertail, but it's not as intimidating as the checkering will be!

Sweet SandHawk! I am just starting to feel the 2011 bug trying to get under my skin. Hilton Yam just posted a Prodigy in FDE that is, or should be out soon. Missed out on buying his Prodigy by like 10 minutes a while back. There are certainly a lot of choices when it comes to DS 1911's, but NH is never a bad one!

PS: That thing needs an FDE mailbox!
