I probably like the Triple Black the best of the two. They are essentially the same model, but the steel makes them very different. The Niolox is Germany's version of D2, with more Niobium to make it have better stainless properties. It is a lot harder to sharpen than the Elmax on the Mr. DP model. Elmax is kind of weird, in that it never "feels" as sharp as it is, knowing you can put a good edge on a blade. It does clean up and take an edge a lot easier than the Niolox steel, though. Both are based on the HEST F/2.0 folder.

It's very similar to D2, if you've ever sharpened it, or just maintaining a decent edge. It takes a very nice edge and keeps it for a long time. Tool steel is popular for field knives that don't see the kind of love most EDC knives get. It will rust, if not kept oiled, or simply used, but that's common among carbon steels. Another good comparison is Lion's Sleipner, which is German D2 equivalent.
