NorthTech Defense Billet Uppers Now Shipping!

NorthTech Defense is finally starting to ship their highly anticipated Billet Upper. The upper comes with a Titanium Forward Assist
and ejection door installed, so no upper parts kit is needed with this. I snapped a few photos of mine with the new Fortis Hammer Charging Handle. Check them out at your favorite NorthTech dealer or from NorthTech Defense directly here.

    Description:

Continuing the progression of our billet lower receiver, we’ve designed our billet upper receiver utilizing high end materials manufactured on state of the art CNC machines that allow us to maintain tight tolerances in an efficient process.

Northtech Defense’s billet upper receiver was created to not only be perfectly matched to our billet lower but also complimentary to other lowers that are mil-spec. Some of the features include a cutting edge Titanium Forward Assist which was crafted from the highest grade titanium which weighs 40% lighter than steel and is over twice as strong. The lines in which the FA follow have been brought forward and tucked in slightly to allow for a better flow of the receiver. Detailed styling is featured in the shape and lines of the receiver as well.

    Features:

•Standard with a Titanium Forward Assist assembly featuring a stylized heat treated Titanium button and heat treated
•Machined from 7075 T6 aerospace billet aluminum with M4 Style Feed Ramp cuts
•Works great in a semi or full auto platform (either Direct Impingement or Piston Driven)
•Meticulous pre-finish work including being bead blasted prior to being anodized
    •Hard coat black anodize MIL-A-8625 Type 3 class 2
•.154″ Diameter Trigger and Hammer pin holes
•Comes installed with a Mil spec ejection door

    MSRP $249.95

Check stock with one of our dealers or Call 503-902-0490 to order.

That is a very sexy upper. I think if you're going to spend big dollars on a gun, they should be spent on the upper and barrel first.

A while back I had some issues with a standard Bushmaster upper. The barrel was not coaxial with the railed handguard. I put the same barrel and handguard on a Rainier UltraMatch and everything lined up perfectly. Since then I've been willing to spend a bit more for a quality upper receiver.

    Just my random $.02 ...

This is probably one of he nicest uppers I've ever owned as far as aesthetics. Looks about as beefy as the VLTOR MUR. I'll be using my 18" Rainier Mountain Series Barrel on this upper and turning into a SPR type build.... well once I finish what I've got going on currently.

With 14 builds going on at once, you have to prioritize! Ha!

You got me there Dave! I have a ton of half done projects. I just need to focus on finishing the ones I really want done first.

I got a build I'm starting next year. And then I'm gonna look at an SBR build that I can stuff in a back pack and make my trunk rifle. The SBR will probably be the only billet receiver set I build an it will be a North Tech build
