    M1A/M14 Picture Thread

I don't see a thread for my favorite battle rifle so here goes.
Mine is a SOCOM II minus the lower rail and with custom grip texturing and coloring. (Done by myself)
Her name is Pandora and she's got more than one box full of dormant fury.

Nice Stick... not sure why we never had a M1A thread before.

In case anyone is wondering, the gun's name is physically imprinted into the cheek rest. I stippled it finely with a highly sharpened tip.

That is awesome. I have been looking at doing a conversion for a M1 Garrand to do an EBR clone. You M1A might persuade me differently.

Would you paint a '66 Corvette with Rustolem? Would you put 20" wheels on a BMW 507? Do you hate America?

Don't do it. I get pimping up a Garand a bit (I'm trying to grab another one to send off to Shuff for a Tanker conversion), but please sir...think of the children.

(All in good fun if that didn't come through on the internets).

Haha I get it man. I have a Garand my grandfather gave me. It is a Springfield an majority of the parts inside are stamped Singer Sewing Company. It's not the factory stock or sights and all the action has checkered polishing. That rifle will stay in the exact configuration it is in now.

If I can get my hands on another Garand that has a stock that is in sub-par condition. I would like to drop it in a synthetic stock with weaver mounted Burris scout optic and a bi-pod. That would be a fun time at the long range nearby.

I actually had a similar idea and was looking at getting another M1. I ended up going with a M1A Scout as a plinker. Mostly because it was a little lighter, and a little more mounting flexibility and was a little cheaper to shoot than burning up the HXP for my dedicated Garands. Then the panic started and I think the HXP was cheaper to shoot. Oh well. At least .308 is coming back down to mostly normal levels for plinking ammo.

I just need one of those fake selectors for mine, I took her out of the Troy chassis and into a nice USGI stock that even still had a stock number on it!
