Pistol builds
I just about have myself convinced to build an 11.5 inch barreled AR pistol. I was going to use a BCM built upper, lower with parts kit and a high speed trigger from giessile or a Timmy drop in, RRA pistol tube with H3 buffer, and a Lantech Dragon muzzle device. I ultimately want to use the sig sauer forearm brace. Does anyone on the board see any obvious red flags with this set up since it's my first pistol build??

After some research 10" makes more sense to me, as I don't feel the 11 has any added benefit.... I just like to go as short as I can without a huge loss in stability

I know ammo is tough, but I like my pistol builds in 300BLK. Noveske offers an 8.2" and Rainier Arms also offers an 8.5.
In 5.56 barrels that are shorter than 10.5, such as the 7.5" have been hard to keep running reliably. I had a 6.5 a few years back which did not do well with certain ammo. If you're keen on doing a 5.56, I would keep the barrel at 10.5" or longer. Try an H buffer before jumping to an H3.

I gotta get on one of these. Wonder how tight a fit the KX5 will be with the P5T rail...

I put some rounds downrange with my pistol last night. I forgot how nice the KX3 really is in directing blast forward on a short barrel. Very fun to shoot. I'm not sure what the interior dimension are on the Phase 5 rail, but you could always wait for the KX5 that is soon to be released in the next 30-60 days or so.
