Parallax Tactical has had these TIN carriers available for awhile, but I thought I'd post here as we have quite a few Nickel Boron fan and they've released their lower cost Gen2 version. Parallax Tactical first has the carrier coated in Nickel Boron. Then polished, before getting it sent out to get coated with TIN. In addition to its beautiful gold color, TIN gives the Bolt Carrier Group one of the hardest surfaces possible. Titanium Nitride pushes the hardness level above Rockwell C hardness of 88. Parallax Tactical uses high quality mil-spec Carpenter 158 bolts to ensure reliability. Visit Parallax Tactical here to order.

Description:

Parallax Tactical's Titanium Nitride Bolt Carrier Group is an 8620 steel bolt carrier that has been coated using a technique called cathodic arc PVD, or physical vapor deposition. This bolt carrier group is completed with a Nickel Boron coated Carpenter 158 bolt and 4130 steel cam pin.

TiN is an extremely hard ceramic material, often used as a coating on titanium alloys, tool steel, stainless steel, carbon steel and other metallic components to improve the substrate's surface properties. Common applications include aerospace parts, military components, medical implants, cutting tools, industrial parts, manufacturing dies / molds and dental and orthodontic appliances. TiN is a beautiful gold color and is often used as a wear resistant alternative to elemental gold plating.
The Carpenter 158 steel is also Magnetic Particle Inspected

Benefits of TiN coating:
