I bought that Harvester in Dec. thinking I'd have plenty of time for a hunting trip in September of this year and in a blink that trip is quickly approaching. Having flashbacks to the 15 months I waited once.

Prob file another 5 SBR's too with the whole dumb ass Maryland barrel restrictions.

I'll be the guy panhandling outside the Expo. LOL

    Lol..that's a good list ..

Good news for Washington residents form 1's are now a go...but with the 41 crap it doesn't leave much time if you have a trust..

I missed the boat and now would have to do the individual way as can't justify a trust with such little time to do stuff and the ginger money tree isn't growing..lol

The woman/kids said they would dish out the 200 for a SBR stamp for Father's Day ,but not sure what to do as you guys all talk like its lays potato chips, you can't have just one..and it will only leave me wanting more.

One is better than none! I'd deffo go with a quality forged lower if you're only going to have one (for now). It doesn't have to be pretty, just in spec. I built my first SBR using a blem Aero Precision lower and just swapped out uppers.

The Trust is the only way to go.

When you pass on, your kids will have to file Form 4's again to transfer your NFA stuff to them, with a Trust they can simply take possession.

Can a trust be signed over to me if the original trustee does something dumb and is no longer able to posses a firearm ?

No lawyer here, but yes. Might depend on the language of each trust...mine's pretty generic and has provisions for the trust to be signed over to those that are appointed. If you don't have one already, it's probably a good idea to have a lawyer familiar with NFA write up a trust instead of doing a generic trust. Kind of wish I had gone that route, but didn't know better at the time.

You can get a trust today, have it notarized, then purchase a can or submit an eform 1 for an sbr all the way till mid July with no worry about 41f changes. Just buy the can from an in-state dealer so there's no form 3.

This isn't completely true. If your kids (or whomever) is named in your will, a Form 5 can be submitted to the ATF in order to legally transfer, tax-free.

The firearms may be transferred on a tax
    -
exempt basis to a lawful heir. The executor would
apply on ATF Form 5, Application for Tax Exempt Transfer and Registration of a Firearm, for a
    tax
    -
    exempt tran
sfer to a lawful heir. A lawful heir is anyone named in the decedent’s will or, in
the absence of a will, anyone entitled to inherit under the laws of the State in which the decedent
last resided. NFA firearms may be transferred directly interstate to a be
    neficiary of the estate.
When a firearm is being transferred to an individual heir, his or her fingerprints on FBI Forms
    FD
    -
258 must accompany the transfer application. However, if any Federal, State or local law
prohibits the heir from receiving or posses
sing the firearm, ATF will not approve the application
Old document, but the basic idea is still in place: https://www.atf.gov/firearms/docs/tr...tates/download

I get it, but if my crappy attitude hasn't shown itself lately..Been unemployed for a while get no other income, health crap is running me around and there again yesterday and more doc appointments/pain specialist all while trying to help out where I can, mortgage,2kids, one about driving ( gotta get him a car) and trying to keep up and play along with my hobby here, but truthfully half my collection in the last year has been sold along with my mustangs...Sad ginger story...lol..

Anyways...guess it wasn't meant to be..although bought a couple guns just for hosts and now looking at selling those..

    Carry on....

Sorry to hear about your troubles man. Post 41F is not the end of the world as far as NFA purchases go. Just slightly more hassle if you use a trust. Thankfully you can do your own prints and photos, and filing individual form 4s is the same either way.

    Thanks..

If the law here in WA would of been written right I would of been into the nfa game a couple years ago when it passed and I had done money..but the wording was screwed for doing form 1's..
