I ask because I am hopeful as I'll be dropping a couple of forms in the coming weeks.
I've been lurking this thread and other places and I'm really curious if wait times will substantially drop once this surge is thru

You would think times will drop a decent amount but how long will that be?

Most successful companies add employees when work volume increases. Knowing that it's going to take 30-odd examiners forever to get past the mid-July glut of applications, you would think the ATF could put on some interns to help with the processing tasks, but no. What gripes my ass is that I paid a thousand bucks for something I won't be able to hold until God knows when next year, provided I'm still around by then. Sure, it's part of the game and I was aware of the rules when I signed up to play, but does that make it okay? Are you good with it? The manufacturer of my suppressor-to-be has proudly stated they've updated the design. OH FUCKING JOY! I now own (but not yet) an obsolete can... In this game, you can't even enjoy having something new and cool because it'll be several iterations old by the time it gets in your hands. I'm not pissed at the manufacturer for evolving their product; I'm pissed at the tyrannical way in which the Government meddles in the workings of the industry and my lack of freedom, as a law-abiding citizen with a spotless criminal record.

I keep hearing all these stories about 1+ year waits and yet NFA Tracker is showing an average of 7.4 months for Form 4 individuals and 7.1 months for Form 1 individuals right now (I'm only following those two because that's what I'm waiting on personally). Right now my two forms that are pending are both trending several days faster than average in terms of receipt and check cashing dates, but we all know that doesn't mean anything.

Individual forms have been faster for a long time. Who knows how the ATF allocates personnel to individual vs. trust/llc vs. form 1 vs. form 4, but purely from a processing standpoint an individual form 1/4 *should* be faster since they don't have to review a trust or articles of organization.

I'm glad that's true because that's why everyone at my LGS was trying to sway me towards going the individual route this last time. I had always gone the trust route in the past.

Griffin Recce 5 and Recce 7 order placed with Silencer Shop 8/4/2017 via credit card.

Trust was used for the first time under the new post 41F method.

I was going to get a .22 can too but out of stock.
