Is the listed weights with barrel nut? If so that's pretty light.

Why do you need a quick detach rail? Maybe I don't get it?

Hopefully it doesn't have the same profile as their other rails.

I had one of their REV handguards and it felt like I was holding a 2x4.

I haven't played with the 556 version, but the 308 version wasn't as narrow as a 2x4, but I know what you're talking about.

Doesn't look like the profile will feel as bad as a Rev model, since it lacks the bottom rail.

I would probably like this rail better without the quick detach thingy. This rail and the new Mega monolithic look very similar.

The profile in my opinion is much better than the REV. In my opinion that was the weakness of the REV rail as good as it is, it's not comfortable for a lot of shooters from the feedback I've heard. This profile is more rounded and more comfortable. The AR15 version should be shipping soon as well.

Just talked to the guys at Fortis Manufacturing today. The AR15 version is going to roll out just before summer. Later in the summer they are also going to revise the REV rail. They are likely going to either remove the bottom 1913 rails, or just have them at the end of the rail like the Geissele MK4.

Humm... i just finally finished up a build using a 14" fortis that i have had since late summer last year, and have not used it much, but not sure what to think of the rev rail quite yet, almost too tall as it sits right now. Maybe with some more handling ill grow to like it more..
