I'm a little confused then. Why is the MK1 listed at 14.24 oz, when yours measured at 17 oz.
Which barrel nut does it come with, the steel or aluminum one?
Did you get a replacement rail from Midway, or did you just return it? In other words, if I do get the rail, should I not get it from Midway?
Also found the video I was talking about, MK3 is the replacement rail for MK1.Last edited by Thompson; 1 June 2014 at 16:06.

Mine came with a steel barrel nut. I don't know why it is listed incorrectly.
I did not get a replacement. After seeing how heavy it actually is, I want to go with something else. Probably a mk8.Will - Owner of Arisaka LLC - http://www.arisakadefense.com

I got a MK4 even though they changed to pear holes from the prototype. Wish I had known the square cuts were coming back, but not a big enough deal to change out. The MK8 pics show both square and pear. Any word which are production spec?
Dump the "here I am" white lettering asap. Gray, gloss black or even OD much preferred.Last edited by Uffdaphil; 3 June 2014 at 08:28.

Square cuts are yet to be released on the reintroduction of the MK4.
However on a side note, Geissele is introducting their bipod mount for their SMR rails. This allows a bipod attachment without the extra weight of a rail section and bipod attachment. Thanks to my buddy John at Geissele for the pics.
