I was thinking about pressing them a bit further but I'm new to this and don't wanna make anything go fubar. If you think
I'll be safe to go to 2.245 with 24.3g, so it shall be. Only loaded up a few just to test anyways, so it's not like I'll have to sit and press hundreds of rounds again. No crimp yet. My FCD is on the way

One of my 55gr fmj/plinker loads uses a H335 load of 24.2grs at 2.225 which for my trim depth is mid cannellure on the bullet, i only light crimp my 55's dont on the 77's. No problems with these, not any presuure signs, im also only using cci 450 mag primers....I really like how AA2230 meters and shoots now,i also use h335 but its definetely dirtier.
In all sounds like you will be fine. I load my 77's at 2.250 and dont have problems, but those are non cannelure also.

27gr CFE223 or 24gr Varget
S&B/Winchester Small Rifle Primer
Lee Factory Crimp
Hornady A-Max 52gr BT OAL 2.250
Mixed HS Brass trimmed to 1.752"
28.0gr of CFE223 or 27.0gr Varget
Compressed Load

Mixed HS Brass trimmed to 1.752"
20.0gr N120
S&B/Winchester Small Rifle Primer

Varmint loads are basically as hot as your barrel will allow you to shoot accurately without pressure signs on the brass. Results on small/predatory game is devastating.Last edited by velocity2006; 24 February 2015 at 09:48.
