Reloaders whats your favorite plinking/ accuracy load?

Just trying to spark some more discussion on here.Maybe it will catch on as there has to be some reloaders on here. I have been loading for 9, 45, and 223 so far.

Post up weapon, caliber, powder, primer,OAL,chrono numbers etc..

-9mm, been loading 115's forever and am now getting turned on by 124's and recently loaded up some 147gr plated test loads. Using bullseye and experimenting with WSF and CFE pistol.

115gr plated RN 4.3 bulleye 1.135 No chrono numbers yet, but functions good and has good (for me) accuracy.
124 and 147 in load testing using b-eye and WSF.

    -45 acp

200gr extreme rn 5 grains of bulleye at 1.21
230 jacketed zero 4.8 grs of bullseye at 1.245

    -223 plinking load
55gr hornady fmj or extreme 55gr fmj

23.7 of AA2230 and CCI 450 mag primer 2.225 No chrono numbers, but functioned good and great accuracy

24.2 grs of H335 and same CCI 450 mag primer 2.225 , functions good, just a little less accurate , but good enough for plinking

    69gr SMK

24.9 grs of varget , federal 205m , at 2.250 and they shoot under 1 moa with me and a nikon 3-9 scope , so far out to 200 yards. 18" rainier arms match barrel..

Also have some 77 gr nosler's to try out and some TAC also to try out.

    Share yours...

I just got started a few months ago, but these work the best for me. As I work up more loads and try out new powders (if I can find any) I'll post up more data.

The .45 are all plated. I am trying to find all the components I need to get started with .223, .380, & 9mm.

    .45 - 200g RN - 4.1g Red Dot
    .45 - 230g RN - 4.7g Red Dot
    .38 spcl - 158g LSWC - 3.5g HP38

Sent from the center of the universe!

    223 plinking/varmint- 25.4 grains of H335, standard SRP, 55 grain Hornady SP.
223 hog round- 25.5 grains of H335, standard SRP, 65 grain Sierra Game King.
357 mag "full" load- 12.5 grains AA9, magnum SPP, 158 grain cast SWC from MO bullet Co.
357 mag plinking- a .380 acp full of Unique over the same bullet (I think it was 6 grains, but not certain). Standard primers.
38 splc load- 4.2 grain s Unique, standard SPP, 158 "cowboy" cast roundnose from MO Bullet Co.
44 Mag- 18.5 grain s AA9, standard LPP, 240 grain cast SWC from (you guessed it) MO bullet co.
40 S&W- Longshot (don't recall the grains, its near the start) standard SPP, 155 grain plated bullet from Extreme Bullets.

Note: this post contains load data. DO NOT use in your gun unless you work up to it using a reliable data source. Both of the .223 loads are ABOVE max in all of my books. Do NOT try to use these loads in your gun. I have worked up slowly to the above max loads and only use them in 5.56 rifles.

Accuracy: Ramshot TAC + 77gr SMK. I usually am well into the 5.56 NATO pressure charges when I get my best accuracy. I run this setup in multiple guns and they all run great.

Haven't really worked up a favorite plinking load yet, though.

I reload a lot of different calibers so I like finding a versatile powder. I scored about 9 pounds of IMR 8208 xbr and it's been great for 6.8 and .223. I've got a lot of the 90 gr. pulled gold dots for the 6.8 that I do use 30.5 gr of H322 in and makes a super round for plinking and stockpile. Been using the 8208 in the .223 with 50 and 53 gr vmax and the accuracy has been very good. 110 vmax works very well in the 6.8 with 8208 as well. IMR 4350 has always been my go to for 30.06.

I just checked my logs and I have ran up to 24.5gr of TAC. I peaked out at 2600fps out of a Centurion Arms 12.5" barrel but groups started to open back up. I backed off to get around 2500 fps and it shoots lights out in this barrel. No pressure signs and sub-MOA groups.

Have also ran this load in a Daniel Defense and BCM midlength barrels with good results too.

Thanks for the info, have a 18" barrel these will mostly be coming out of plus maybe one of the middies..

This i what their load data says for a bolt action 223

    77
    SIERRA
    HPBT MK
    21.1
    2,483
    23.4
    2,759
    54,500
    2.260

And for their data for 556x45 ammo

    77
    SIERRA
    HPBT MK
    22.3
    2,648
    24.8
    2,902
    61,500
    2.260

Thinking of starting around 23 grains and working up in .02 incrments till about 24 'ish to see what i get.. have no chrono so going for accuray for now and woud one day liek to check FPS

Don't have access to my reloading log, but one of my favorite loads is a 10mm load pushing a 180 grain Berry bullet.

10mm is very easy to load. My load is fairly common: 180 grain FP bullet (I use a Berry FP bullet) and 6.0 grains of Bullseye. Very moderate out of my 10mm Dan Wesson; an absolute pussycat out of my Glock 20 and S&W 10mm's.

I don't have a chron, but looking around the interwebs, it's around 1000 fps or less.

Yeah....sorry about my fail (as I slink off in shame).

I don't reload like I used to. When I was burning up Titewad on the sporting clay scene I was loading 10,000 hulls a year. No more of that.

I load for my .308 bolt gun...basically 168gr anything loaded .015" off the lands over 42gr Benchmark or 43gr Varget.

Though once my SPR build is done I will need to feed it 77gr goodies...so...a loading I will go...
