San Tan Tactical Billet Upper
San Tan Tactical was kind enough to send me one of their new upper receivers. The San Tan STT-15 Lower Receiver has been quite popular with the ambi AR crowd. They've been working hard on their new upper receiver as many of their customers have been asking for one. After many months of designing and redesigning, they've finally come out with an upper receiver they're satisfied with.
I don't have all the specs on the upper, but it is made from 7075 T6 Billet Aluminum. The upper receiver will come with the forward assist and dust cover installed, so no upper parts kit purchase will be necessary.
ETA: These are now available through the Revolvr App. http://www.revolvr.com/new-san-tan-u...r-with-fa.html
Introductory Price $184.95 shipped
Description:
There are many different AR-15 upper receivers on the market today. When designing this one there were a few features that were addressed. It was created lighter, stronger, and all while looking good doing it. One distinguishing characteristic is the truss pockets. The truss design acts similar to a bridge that carries and distributes the stress across the entire platform verses putting all of the stress on the material right behind the threads of the receiver. It also in turn helps improve your accuracy. The new STT receiver also comes in at only 8.2 ounces. Thats lighter than some slick side uppers!

Ahhh! Why couldn't the 50k giveaway be right now while I could claim that lower. The upper is freaking amazing like the lower and as soon as I move out of Maryland I will be buying a set for a proper rifle build.

Might look cool with an AXTS lower.
Or it might not match at all and be entirely too busy.
Really though, not my cup of tea.-One Nation, Under God

I think the upper would look better without the cuts on the one side. Doesn't really do it for me, even if the listed weight it better than most billets. They should have just kept the design of the solid side with the subtle logo, I think it would have worked better. this just draws too much attention IMHO.
