Blitzkrieg Components 9mm AR Buffer & Spring

    http://www.blitzkriegcomponents.com/...de=AR15-ABS-9P

    Description:

This Buffer/Spring Package gives you the best combination of buffer and spring for an AR-15 9mm pistol or carbine. Blitzkrieg Components partnered with CTS Engineering to develop a 9mm AR-15 buffer using CTS's Patent Pending AKTIVE Buffer Technology. The AKTIVE Buffer design uses a solid Stainless Steel buffer body and a 2-stage buffering action to cushion the impact of the Bolt/Bolt Carrier. The buffer has a hard polymer piston head at the front that encloses a captured elastomer shock absorber and has an improved rear bumper. The 2-stage action consists of the piston head compressing the internal elastomer shock absorber, followed by the compression of the rear bumper, creating a much softer impact at the rear of the buffer tube. The impact of the bolt on the barrel as it goes forward into battery is also less than with a conventional weighted buffer or solid buffer. The hard polymer piston head has been redesigned to support the unique 9mm AR-15 application. It accommodates the solid rear profile of 9mm AR-15 bolts and it provides optimal alignment at all times within the buffer tube. Furthermore, the polymer piston head eliminates buffer tube wear and runs completely quiet. The rear bumper is not only more substantial than a convention bumper, but it is secured to the stainless buffer body with a bolt instead of a flimsy roll pin. The blowback operation of the 9mm AR-15 drives a very heavy bolt (normally16 ounces) much harder than a standard AR-15 BCG and it needs to be dampened as much as possible to optimize the system, reduce wear on the firearm and reduce recoil and sight movement. The design is simple, yet very effective and will feel softer and run quieter than any conventional AR buffer. Spring noise is also eliminated using this buffer. Most spring noise on 9mm AR15s comes from the abrupt stop of a conventional buffer causing spring vibration. Our buffer dampens the impact for a soft landing which completely eliminates this vibration and noise. The length of this buffer stops the bolt just behind the bolt catch on a 9mm AR-15 without the need for a spacer.

After extensive testing and evaluation, we have sourced the highest quality buffer springs from Sprinco USA that are properly matched in strength for this 9mm application. They have the strength, consistent performance and long service life that is needed. Standard AR-15 carbine buffer springs are woefully underpowered for use in a 9mm AR-15, and even extra power AR-15 carbine springs are normally insufficient in strength to adequately slow down the heavy 9mm bolt before the buffer stops it at the rear of it's motion. This high bolt velocity is very hard on triggers and buffers and causes more recoil and more muzzle jump than necessary. In many cases a standard aluminum AR-15 carbine buffer can be literally crushed down to a shorter length causing impact of the bolt key on the lower receiver damaging the weapon. This requires a stronger spring and a better/stronger buffer as well. The spring is a critical component of this system and long term service life of the spring is vital to keeping your weapon running properly. Our 9mm springs are made by Sprinco USA from certified Chrome Silicon wire stock to ISO 9001:2008 quality standards to withstand extreme heat and high cyclic rate. This ensures consistency in performance through high round counts. They are precision wound, heat treated, stress relieved and shot peened for extremely long service life and then moly plated for improved corrosion and wear resistance.

While 9mm carbines run the bolt very hard, shorter barrels on Pistols and SBRs do not impart quite as much energy to the bolt and thus don't run quite as hard. For this reason, if shooting standard power ammo such as factory 115 grain standard velocity ammo, or light loads, shorter barreled guns will need a bit lighter buffer spring in order to lock back on the last round. If shooting heavy bullets or hotter loads, then the Heavy 9mm Buffer Spring is still recommended unless your barrel length is less than 8".

    Light Buffer Spring Applications:

9mm Pistols or SBRs with barrels less than 8" using any type of ammunition
Pistols or SBRs with barrels of 8 - 12" if using mostly light loads, light weight bullets or standard velocity 115 grain ammunition

Seen this setup this morning , looks like a good deal for a 9mm ar. A 9mm carbine is on the someday list...
