Secondly, how is an anti-gun actor's role in this movie a disservice to Kyle's legacy? Kyle wasn't a sniper because he was pro-gun no more than he joined the military because he was pro-gun. He was PRO-SERVICE and that is Kyle's legacy. His tool was a rifle, but that wasn't his only tool.

Purporting by inference that Kyle's legacy is solely that he was pro-gun is doing a disservice to his legacy.
There is a hypocrisy in someone who is anti-gun, making money from anything to do with guns, especially making movies which require firearms use in an action role.

I would much rather not see a movie starred by a person who is extremely against my rights, but then I am not exactly the average person when it comes to these types of things.

This has nothing to do with the movie itself, Kyle, or his/others service. I am pointing it out so people do not misunderstand the context.

So, you won't be seeing this movie then, right?

Cooper may not be a gun fan, but unless someone can link me a page with verifiable information stating he has been or is currently legitimately campaigning against 2A preservation I am not going to miss out on a good movie because of his liberal hot air.

If you would like a couple examples of boycotts to really get behind in our world, chew on these:

Troy Industries hired a KNOWN gun-grabber:
    http://www.thebangswitch.com/the-hir...oy-industries/

HS Precision hired Lon Horiuchi as a spokesman...ever heard of him?:
    http://thelawdogfiles.blogspot.com/2...first.html?m=1

Guns and Ammo also has/had a paid commentator on the payroll who made several (published!) remarks about the common freedoms being too free and should be restricted more. He even stated that our rights should be a permission, not an inalienable thing.

To this day I will NOT OR EVER buy a damn thing from HS or Troy. And I never subscribed to G&A.

But Bradley Cooper's distaste for guns is not reason enough for me to skip this movie.

Don't really understand why use Bradley Cooper in this role when I'm available. An Asian version of Chris Kyle would have rocked.

It shouldn't matter if an actor is anti gun, 2A etc. It didn't until 2008... Then an assault commenced on our rights from those in "power". Would I have cared marky marks real life ideologies didn't match what he portrayed on screen... No.
Now these actors are minions of the big O and dribble their anti this, tolerate this and ban that crap and the issue is the majority of people are so brainwashed, ignorant and dumb they take it as gospel.
I'll see it, maybe he isn't anti. To many are and they spread the lies and misinformation doled out by the MSM, capital, commie billionaires etc. You end up funding the errosion of your rights.
I live in NY, I feel the burn everyday.
God bless our troops and Chris Kyle

It's funny all of this has focused on Bradley Cooper and it's Clint Eastwood directing the movie. Not an anti-gun man at all.

Here's the thing - Cooper grew up behind enemy lines ie New Jersey. Started with one foot behind the 8 ball unfortunately.

But he was introduced to Kyle's book in 2012 & bought the rights & signed on to star & produce it. He's met w Chris's widow, with his parents. Chris's spotter was technical advisor on the movie.

He even put on 40lbs of muscle to flesh out the man.

I think he's taking who Chris Kyle was VERY seriously. I also think whatever his personal feelings may have been. Getting to spend some much time with the mans family, learning from the teams, from his brothers in arms & Eastwood he'll have full opportunity to reconsider his POV.

And if he doesn't, as long as he does Chris Kyle justice - I can live with that.

As soon as I heard Troy do thier anti gun bit I stopped caring about then as well as Dicks sporting goods during the whole sandy hook thing. I believe in our 2a rights enough to not give them up over comfort or entertainment.

As I stated above, this is not about Kyle, it is about principles and hypocrisy. If a man speaks out against something, then turns around and uses that very topic to make money or gain in some fashion that man simply lacks in various ways. "Stand for something or youll fall for anything"

I am an Eastwood fan, he has hit the ball out of the park several times and I would see any film he makes just to support him and his work. Hollywood, however, does not take to those like Eastwood favorably because they do not sit there and regurgitate their hypocrisy.

I might see the movie, I might not. As long as Streep isnt in it I think it may be doable, I cannot tolerate her socialist agenda and would never support anything she does.

So to go along that line, we might as well live in a cave in the middle of nowhere. Just about everything you do with just about everything we deal with has someone making money off you that does not align themselves with your ideologies or convictions. Picking and choosing a few to stand against amidst all the others just to make oneself feel righteous is ridiculous......and a bit hypocritical in its own right.

To a point ill agree, but there are plenty people can do to steer clear of ideologies they do not want to support.

    HAHA

I'm glad that it's Eastwood directing the film. Although I wonder if it would be any different/better if someone like Spielberg or Hanks directed it.

Indeed. One of my favorites of his is still Gran Torino.
