Views down the sight of historical military firearms

Found this website show Views down the sight of historical military firearms.

Figured some of us on here had to be not just AR-centric folks.

Pretty neat to see it from the shooter's perspective, rather than the traditional (and blasé) side shot

I found my favorite (surprise surprise BC ):

I got to go to the NRA museum while in Springfield this past week. It was really cool to see the history of the firearms on display there. The site you posted is pretty cool because it gives you a view on some weapons that will never be touched by most of us.
    Just a regular guy.

    Very cool. Thanks for sharing.

    Talk about obstruction of view.

They got it a little better with the Mk 5 but not by much...

    Sure thing.

I've never really been that into the Lee Enfield (would still love to shoot one though), but that's interesting what you pointed out.

I always thought that our Springfield 1903 used the same sort of leaf sight (for lack of better words), didn't it?

Comp - yep, unfortunately you're right. If only there were that many surpluses to go around

You're right. I thought they were peep near the bolt. Looks like I was thinking of later models or aftermarket sights.
