Dropped the rifle on the light, it was on the 300BO Rainier wevo build and I had it mounted too far out. Will is going to take care of it so all is good, but definitely shouldn't be cantilevering these off the end of the rail like I had it. I'll have to run it about an inch further back which will change my grip a bit, but oh well.

Perfect solution.....Just add a suppressor .....then cantilever off the end won't matter.

Yeah that mount has two places that the light attaches to the mlock mount. The ring mount only has one. I don't think a suppressor would have made a difference. Cantilevering the mount there must not have been enough support with the one attachment point being that it was over the rail. So, when the light hit the surface of the ground, the attachment point acted as the pivot point for all of the force, if that makes sense. Because it was cantilevered and not fully supported the mount slightly bent and fractured. For sure it was my fault by not mounting it properly, but great of Will to take care of it anyway.

I need to get my ass to the post office and send it off here soon. Been swamped.

My ring mount was mounted basically the same way. You have yours in that picture.

Screw barrel shadow! This isn't SEAL Team 6. I also don't like it sitting in my line of sight (right-handed shooter).

Regarding cantilevering: I don't recommend it. Tact's rifle is as far as I would go with the inline scout mount. The inline ring mount should have the ring still over the handguard.

Inventory update: Offset Scout Mounts are back in stock, finally.

We also have a limited run of 300 Series Lights coated in Magpul FDE Cerakote. These were hard coat anodized first, and include your choice of a matching Arisaka momentary or Surefire Z68 tailcap. These lights feature our streamlined light bodies which are compatible with any aftermarket Scout mount, head, or tailcap. The Malkoff E1T TIR head provides 300 lumens and 9,000 lux.

Malkoff has provided us with two new head configurations for the 600 Series Lights:

    • E2ST (Super Throw) - 20,000 lux at 1 meter and 650 initial/550 continuous out-the-front lumens. This head has a very focused beam for maximum distance.
    • E2S (Super) - 12,000 lux at 1 meter and 750 initial/700 continuous out-the-front lumens. This head has a wider beam profile, giving more spill.

These heads pull a lot of power, and the battery life reflects this: continuous run time is 15-20 minutes on 2x CR123 cells or 45-60 minutes on 1x 16650 cell. Real world use where the light is turned on and off in spurts will result in closer to 30-45 minutes run time with 2x CR123 cells.

Everytime I see this particular setup, I think Will/Arisaka should make the part holding the switch out of aluminum.... just saying.
