I had to slide my eotech on from the back near the charging handle and then clamp down on one of the receivers I had at one point. Mine wouldn't go on from the side but would this way...

I've installed a bunch of EOTech's and never seen that. This should be easy. The part that is out of spec should be replaced by the manufacturer. It looks like 1913 rail specs (top max width) are .835" (21.209 MM).

Stick the upper in the freezer for an hour, that'll shrink her down to mil spec. Then quickly slap the eotech on it... For $240 that upper better be on the nuts. Call Seekins.

This is a picture of a magazine release for a San Tan lower that I've had for 6 months or so. It stopped releasing magazines for some odd reason so I pulled the mechanism apart this is what I found. I contacted the manufacturer and they promised to send me a new one....2 or 3 months ago. So I welded it back together myself and now it works. I agree contacting the manufacturer is always best, but they are under no obligation to come through.

Seeking IS the problem. I have two of their garbage lowers. Not the Billet Trash, but the forged ones. Magwells are tight, buffer detent isn't positioned right... They're functional, but they'll be replaces with quality lowers this year.

    4. Seekins 223 upper 21.40

Picatinny rail specs call for 21.20mm

This made me very curious about my own gear so I measured.

My CMT UPR4 upper is exactly 21.20mm
My SLR Rifleworks rail is 20.675mm (.5mm shy of being exact)

Given, my calipers are old and manual and only use inches and they also have to be manually calibrated, so I had to eyeball it and use google for the conversion...but that's what I came up with.

Eotech won't fit on seekins 223 upper

I can tell you from my experience, my seekins BAR is tight too. My front mbus on that rail will not flip up without a bit of persuasion, however the back one on a PSA stripped upper will flip up freely.

I've seen some interesting "gunsmithing" work over the years.

Didn't bother, I fixed it. The welded one will be stronger anyway. No dremel needed :)

Despite the crappy mag release, I must concede that dennis at San tan is probably the nicest weapons manufacturer I've ever spoken too. I'd buy more from him just based on that
