    Fortis Manufacturing 556 SWITCH Rail

Fortis Manufacturing introduces the SWITCH Rail for the AR15 Platform. The Rails will initially be available on Revolvr for $215. Checkout Fortis Manufacturing for updates and Revolvr to purchase one of the initial runs.

    Description:

Fortis SWITCH™ is an extremely lightweight, yet robust free float rail system designed for the 556 platform. When designing the SWITCH™, we wanted a handguard that was easy to install, but also be able to quickly change rails for a variety of mission or competition specific setups. The rail features a brand new patent pending locking mechanism that allows tool-less removal of the rail. The rail design not only looks great, but is very functional in your hand. The piece adds minimal weight to the rifle and you won't be disappointed!

    Material: Aircraft Grade 6061-T6 Aluminum
    Locking handle: 7075-T6 Aluminum
Barrel nut diameter is 1.375”/1.000” long
    Length: 12.38”
    Weight: 8.5 ounces
Continuous Top Rail, Rotation Limited QD Sockets, Keymod at the 3, 6 & 9 o'clock,

I personally never saw a need to remove the rail once I installed one but it is a good looking rail.

Honestly, I think they need to make the ID larger to fit suppressors, if they want to maximize the ability to take the rail off.

Otherwise, you can still have multiple set ups on multiple sleeves for the same rifle to quickly change configurations.

Good point but that would eliminate the need to build multiple rifles

Are there any other lengths planned?

The SWITCH Rail for now will only be offered in 12" and then 15"

The new REV Gen2 will be offered in all lengths, but will lose the bottom rail.
