Joe Bob billet build
So I snagged an lower from Joe Bob outfitters on their Black Friday sale. for $117 for the lower shipped! I figure that's a really good price for a billet lower and a good foundation for a new build. I've already have most of the parts needed but I'm actually going to take my time and probably send this set off to Mike @Blowndeadline for some 'kote Magic!
First thing I want to say is I have never received a lower so quickly. I purchased this set on thanksgiving and I had it on my hand Monday after lunch! That's quick by most standards but to have it shipped that quick over a holiday and the busiest shopping weekend of the year! This was done via USPS which is even more amazing. That says a lot about the company. I will be going back to purchase more components from them and see if that trend continues.
The lower feels really good in your hand and is very sturdy feeling as it should be. Finish is decent looking but with a little froglube it would really shine. I normally do this straight out of the box but since I plan to send it off I didn't want to waste the lube on it. Has most of the standard things that should come with a billet lower. A threaded bolt catch pin, threaded rear takedown spring catch, adjustment screw for upper and STS cutout for using the short throw selector from Battle Arms if you chose too. First impressions are really good with this lower. It may not be SanTan nice( 😉 UW) but it's pretty close.
Please excuse the cell phone pics it's all I have...
I also decided after I purchased the lower that it just wouldn't be right if I didn't get the upper as well. So I ended up thanks to computalotapus For "talking" me into it I ordered the upper as well. That was purchased late Thursday night and will be here today(Tuesday) via USPS as well. Will update with pics and first thought tonight.

As promised here is a few pics of the upper. This upper feels really good in your hands. I personally really like the detachable block but I do wish they would make some interchangeable parts for it.
Of course I had to share some pics of the set mates together. The pair are like peanut butter and jelly the are made for each other. As expected all the lines come together nicely and they seem to mate well together. I really like this set! Can you have more than one favorite because I have a few...

Thanks the first two were taken with my iPhone 6, edited and posted from tapatalk. The last 4 were taken with my phone and tweaked in Photoshop. Only did very little there( remove shadow, adjust brightness/contrast) and levels, that's it) and then sent back to my phone so I could post using tapatalk.
You post some pretty good stuff my friend. And hey should you be busy... Get back to work, lol just kidding...
