    Vltor A5 System

I finally got around to trying it out.

Subjectively, it felt smoother, and shot flatter.

Objectively, it was much less sensitive to back-pressure from being suppressed, while not compromising performance with "weaker" ammunition such as PMC Bronze .223, and it even ran Wolf MC unsuppressed and locked back on empty if you held the weapon very tightly. If not, bolt-over base could occur, and lockback was not likely. It's tolerance for low-pressure ammunition was VERY SLIGHTLY improved over the factory H-buffer and carbine spring. Its tolerance of 5.56 pressure ammunition while suppressed was MUCH improved.

The best way I can demonstrate its performance is by showing you, please forgive the cell-phone video, but it does give an idea.

    Vltor a5 suppressed: http://youtu.be/r-S8P5Ao9jU

*Viewing the videos on YouTube, you can see the ammunition fired, order it was fired in, and weapon configuration listed in the video description.

In conclusion, I really like my Vltor A5.

Nice video comparison. I run A5 setups on all but one of guns (wanted to try the LWRC UCIW system on an SBR lower) and have found similar results. It's interesting to not the difference in the angles of your ejected brass and how it varied with the different configurations, especially with the H buffer/suppressed setup.

ETA: couple the A5 system with a good muzzle brake and you'll notice it can get flatter/softer yet. I've got a 12.5" gun that shoots softer than any other AR I own.
