Ghost in the Shell Live Action Movie
The remake will be directed under Rupert Sanders (Snow White And The Huntsman) for DreamWorks. The lead has been rumored to be either Margot Robbie or Scarlet Johansson. No release date projected yet.

Two other live action anime films rumored to be in the works I'm interested in are Evangelion and Cowboy Bebop.

Always liked Ghost in the Shell and Vampire Hunter D. That is about as far as my anime knowledge goes.

I'm worried about possibly Scarlet Johansson being cast as Major Motoko Kusanagi. I like Scarlet but don't see her in this role, but who knows maybe she'll be alright.

Agreed 100% with Naytwan. My four favorite animes were GitS SAC (but not the movies), Cowboy Bebop, Space Battleship Yamato, and Captain Harlock Space Pirate. I fear Hollyweird will do the same horrible job with these animes as they did with Aeon Flux and that ridiculous Dragonball Z movie. I know Japan made a SB Yamato live action movie, but I haven't seen it.

Awesome! Love me some Major Kusanagi. I like the GITS series as they usually have a complicated plot that makes you think.
Appleseed is another good series, a little more action-oriented though.
Thanks for the heads up, looking forward to this!

Only if the people that rebooted Battlestar Gallactica would do it.
Edit:
Speaking of Cowboy Bebop, amazon has the blu-ray on sale right now, hmm.
