Turned out very nice. I just love the look of a well finished forged lower. Funny part is I have that exact optic in that exact mount. My Bobro is the Trijicon badged one though.

    I'd pin that gas block.

    Otherwise, looks great.

Being semi auto and very soft shooting 300BLK I really dont see a need for pinning it. I wll not be doing any mag dumps or high rate of fire for any extended periods of time.

Its dimpled and installed with high temp rocksett.

But thank you for the comment =)

Here's a buddy's gun after a 400 round day of suppressed 300 BLK shooting. He couldn't figure why he had a single shot gun and brought it over.

Generally, I get all my gas blocks pinned. If you're just going to use it as a range toy, then yeah, the worst that'll happen is, your day will be cut short.

Yup. For now it will be a low volume shooting gun. My range only allows 1 shot at the time 1 bullet at the time and 300BLK is not exactly cheap even though I reload.

I don't plan to shoot 400 rounds a day or 200 or even 100. So I will keep an eye on it and if more shooting will be happening, I will consider pining.

Syrac doesn't have a hole for pinning. Is it ok to use pining jig tool and drill your own hole?

Yup. I use a BRD jig but they are gas block specific. I do not taper ream and use a tapered pin, I just use a roll pin. As a test I installed a VLTOR gas block with a roll pin and removed both set screws. I put over 2,000 rounds through that barrel before I re-installed the set screws. Lots of back pressure acting on that gas system with a can. I have seen well tested guns have the gas block shift first time a can was ran on it.

Curious if that barrel was dimpled or just tightened on the barrel?

Bench, yes I love it and you can get your own from Uline, they have warehouse in Auburn for pick up.

I have two of them. One pictured for my progressive press and gunsmithing (Maple Top 72x30) and one for my Presicion Rifle reloading (Maple Top 48x30)

I also added top shelf on both benches. Great bench! Very Very sturdy and legs are adjustable for sitting or standing.

Looks like we're moving this summer. I think I'm going to get a couple of those uline benches. Where's the best place to order those from? Direct?

It was a dimpled barrel. Sorry I didn't see this before.

Just curious but what benefit would be brought from pinning the gas block? What does it all entail to pin one? Can you elaborate please?

Simply using set screws to hold a gas block in place is not sufficient in my opinion. The gas block can and will move with use. Look at the picture several posts above.

You'll need a gas block like an 87 Industries one to do it yourself, or a drill press and the correct bits to do any gas block.
