Left Handed Rifle
I know the last thing I need is another project, but whatever.
CMT Tactical released their Left Handed Uppers a few weeks back, and I purchased 2 at the time. One for a retiring officer who wanted me to build him a LH upper geared towards his tastes (varmint hunting) and one for me for a future LH build.
Last week Jeff Cross asked me if I wanted to try out one of their upcoming new Ambi Receiver Sets, and of course who could say no to that.
For this rifle, I'm going to build it up with less gas in the face as the main objective. I've honestly never been a huge fan of proprietary parts, such as the LH BCG and bolt, but since I have so many other go-to guns, this will simply be a range toy, and a test in how much less gas I can get in my face running suppressed. The LH upper doesn't have a dust cover, but it does have a forward assist. I will likely replace the FA with an AR Gas Vent.
Parts List:
CMT Tactical Ambi Lower
CMT Tactical UPUR-1LH
Battle Arms Development BAD-ASS
Battle Arms Development EPS
BCM Mod3 Grip
Other parts to be determined

Really interested in your thoughts on this, my oldest brother is a lefty and have contemplated getting a LH stag for him but if I can build one with some fiddle fart I would much rather do that.
Just a regular guy.

I'm curious as well since I shoot lefty and I'll find out just how bad gas hits me over the next few days

Do you have the AR Gas Vent already? I may be able to help if not.

Lefty here too. The uppers are very nice. Any idea when the lowers are going to be released to the masses? They look great on the Mega GTR-3H. Still would like to put a couple on these lowers. Since MSP decided that SBR's over 26" are GTG in Maryland looks like some shortys and heavy barrel'ed rifles are in the works.
Photo's look amazing BTW.

The mil spec mag release is the icing on the cake. Proprietary parts scare me for some reason.

I just spoke with Jeff, he seemed like a solid dude. My wife and I are gonna take a vacation day sometime soon after New Years and get someone to watch the kids. He invited us to drive down to TN to his shop to get a custom WEVO logo done on a lower. Can't wait :)

When you get a grip on this rig, please tell us how the controls compare to the STT. I'm may be building another lefty down the line (after I can fund and finish my current build), and the input would be great.
