First time eve really messing with a photo more than just trying to sharpen, fix imperfections and color/contrast.
Thoughts? (You don't have to be gentle)

I guess that's the actual light coming from the weapon light? I'm thinking out loud and all of this can be very subjective. My first thought is a the light is a bit overwhelming. Harsh? Diffusion would help. That's more of a subjective call and the dynamic range of your camera can be influencing the fall off. If your exposing for the guns then the light will be very overexposed. Blown out is fine in some situations. A little ambient light would help that. The logo is a bit misplaced. Both with rule of thirds and the logo is not exactly inline with the center of the lights path. The logo has some interior shadows but casts no shadow opposite of the light. Can be an artistic decision. Keep playing with it. Again, a lot of this is subjective and I'm thinking about how I would like it to look. I could find that I'm nuts if I tried to execute the same idea. Hope this helps.

Interesting. My thought was that the white spot was actually the original lighting; he added a black layer, changed the opacity so you could just see the pistols, and then used a soft brush to erase part of that layer to create what looks like light coming from the TLR. The TLR could actually be off - can't tell because the switch is hidden (nice touch). A third layer could have been used to "dim down" the hot spot just a little. I like it.

That's what I did. I didn't like the original shot and was trying to think of something I could do just to play with it.
Thanks for the critique though too tx.
The wife thinks I'm goofy for taking the pictures and my friends just say everything is cool, which clearly not everything is.... My wife used to think the same The main thing is to keep trying different things. The light is overwhelming. Try actually setting up the shot with the light turned on and use a quarter for the logo. Turn the lights off and see what it looks like. It will give you more or a realistic look. Then you can build from there. Did that make sense? Haha
