    Got my 9mm can upgraded

I bought an Innovative Arms 9mm suppressor back in early 2012 when most pistol cans were sealed, and like most others, so was mine. Not really an issue, but would prevent me from shooting lead. Every range trip this one is in the bag; it's always found on a Glock 19 and has seen a bunch of plated 147gr handloads through it. About 6 months ago, I learned that Innovative was now selling their 9mm and .45 suppressors as serviceable units, so I asked if I could bring my can by and get it upgraded.

After a 24 hour turn around, I had my can back. It went from having 8 baffles to 7, and Phillip (owner) cleaned up the tube and got out any build up (wasn't much, never shot lead through it) so it felt a couple ounces lighter, but I failed to weigh it beforehand. He also bead-blasted the booster piston so now it has a nice matte finish, and it came with the take-down tool. If one should ever lose the tool, a 3/8" drive ratchet will work in it's place.

Old baffle (left) vs new (right). They were given texture and all the flat surfaces disrupted for sound attenuation. Sorry for the blurry iPotato pic

The baffles have little tabs on them, visible in the last picture, to keep everything aligned.

And as always, the service and support from Innovative in the years that I have been doing business with them has been outstanding. I know they're a smaller company and people tend to stick with the "big boys" but I don't think IA is going anywhere any time soon.

I've only shot a couple test rounds through it but need to get out on the range.....more to come!

Do you find yourself shooting a lot of non-jacketed lead ammo?

Never did before because it was sealed but now I can. It's a lot cheaper too.

I've always wanted to get a lever action .38/.357 and suppress it, and 158gr lead would be my primary bullet
