Thanks, and I definitely understand. I also looked at Mega - was considering their one-piece billet upper and rail, but really wanted to try the KMR. I have quad-rails, and I don't think the Mega one-piece would have been much different - even though it is unique in design, and really good looking. I am very pleased with the KMR in diameter and weight.

I don't think anyone mentioned this but getting a 14.5" barrel without a pinned muzzle device would only be possible (read: legal) for those with pistol or SBR/F1 lowers. Also, I like the parts list idea but would want some flexibility in the muzzle device department because not everyone owns an AAC can. If you're not getting it to run a can on, there are better comp options though

Good point, also if you're going to get an AAC 51T Muzzle brake, you can't pin it on a 14.5 as it's not long enough to get it to 16" anyway.

    I thought the 51T is 2.5" long?

A 51T brake is about 2" in length only giving you 1.4" in added length.

Call me crazy but I hate pinning any barrel. Actually I refuse to and would much rather SBR a 14.5" barrel than pin it.

Good catch 11B. While I mentioned it was for my SBR, I should have emphasized the legalities of short barrels. And Rainier is a candy store for parts. Not everybody likes licorice, and so they get to make up their own list of goodies

A good trip as always, yet never long enough. I still think there was more .45 brass than rifle brass. Rifle was nice, i'm still unsure on the keymod rail as it has a totally different feel from how I'm used to shooting. Best way I could describe it was about like holding a yellow wiffle ball bat. Flawless performance, always nice to zero a rifle and optic in less than 5 minutes....

A shot from the pre optic zero on the range. Almost forgot I took this pic.
