PWS vs LWRC

I've no experience with either system. To me pistons belong AK's, SCAR's and engines. I've read great things about both systems. Which do you prefer, PWS or LWRC?

Hands down LWRC, I recently shot 300 rounds from an LWRC. Not a single problem, everything is smooth out of the box and when I went to clean the BCG there was a little fowling on the bolt face and some brass chunks that wiped off with a cloth. In the fee years I have used an LW I've never had an issue with thousands of rounds.

When people say they've had a bad experience it's usually from the old company when it was Leitner Wise not the Land Warfare.
That's just me. But I've never felt a smoother operating carbine. On a side note your hands will get filthy due to the gases being disapated through the piston cup and head which is located behind the front sight.

I prefer the PWS system over the lwrci. It's smoother and is less violent on the individual parts. Another nice thing about the PWS is that you can use many standardized parts while the lwrci almost everything is proprietary. Also pws's CS is awesome. Lwrci is also doing good things, and I am a fan of their ambi features.

No my DI girls run like at top, no malfunctions. I guess some like their girls squeaky clean, but I like mine a little dirty. If I did it would be a SCAR PDW.

The main disadvantage of direct impingement is that the breech of the firearm's firing mechanism becomes fouled more quickly due to being exposed to the propellants of the cartridge. This is caused by solids from the high-temperature gas condensing on the bolt face and primary operating mechanism. The combustion gases contain vaporized metals, carbon, and impurities in a gaseous state until they contact cooler operating parts. The deposits increase friction on the bolt's camming system leading to malfunctions, so that thorough and frequent cleaning is required to ensure reliability.

I ran one of the original PWS Systems back in '08. It was assembled by some great people at Rainier Arms. I ran the hell out of that thing and it was great. I was even able to use a Beta C Mag in it on auto. I know when the DEA started to use LWRC rifles in Afghanistan, al of the ones that I know switched back to their RRA guns before going on missions. back in '09-'10 time frame I know that they has some real issues. Not sure about them now.

PWS hands down. But hell according to stone I have 30+ guns I didn't know were piston guns....in that case I choose my Mega's as the bestest direct impingement piston driven rifles I own.

Did Colt buy LWRCi? I know it was rumored a year or so ago.

It was reported that Colt was buying LWRC for $60 million, but I never saw a official press release.

Rumors around here (and they are just that, so take with a grain of salt) is that when LWRC lost the lawsuit to F&D for stealing Corb Hall's design that Colt backed out of attempts to buy the company. Not sure what company LWRC is even trading as now there have been so many.
