As a set I really like this. I have no issues with poly despite the fact I really need to mill out my JMT lower lol

Why? I see no reason for this unless it was dirt cheap and it's not.

Doesn't help that it's REALLY ugly.

The biggest issue I see with it is if you don't have a reaction rod your looking another $100 just to put this set together and keep the warranty. Not that I don't want a RR but I don't like the idea of having to buy a tool just to put this set together

Man that thing is ugly.
As light as possible build?

I'm not to confirm or deny that it's ugly.
I was looking at some V7 and BAD components for a possible LW build, but I don't think I want to dump that much cash into it. I've seen a few lately at RA that people have built up to the lightest possible AR and they don't run.
I think I'm going to build this one up as just a standard 16" carbine and see how it operates.

I for one am not a fan of ultralight builds. Mass = stability and a few pounds makes very little difference until it's shouldered and then it's a detriment.
Then again I've hunted with a 22 lb rifle and hiked 8-10 miles with it. Lol
