9mm AR
Anyone have experience with 9mm AR stuff? I'm contemplating building one for the wife. Since she has numerous health issues, and my stuff is too big/heavy for her, I was thinking a really lightweight build with a shorty 9mm barrel on it. She LOVES my Aero 'Pew' lower so I'm going to sacrifice that to her, but I don't even have an idea where to begin - I've never looked at 9mm AR stuff. But I would think the light weight and no recoil might be just what she she needs. Of course it would be SBR'd and suppressed
Anyways, with all the knowledge in here, someone might be able to tell me what to get/avoid...
Thanks!Last edited by SwissyJim; 16 July 2015 at 20:47.

I've played a little with 9mm AR's and they were fun, I don't own one though they belonged to a guy I worked with. For a light rifle with very little recoil I'm a very big fan of the PS90. It's my favorite bullpup.

If you want to SBR it I would take a serious look at the Scorpion Evo.

Ahh... that helps. Thanks. As far as the other mentions, she really likes my AR's, just can't really handle them. And I have enough parts all I'd need was the 9mm specific stuff... barrel, BCG and mags/adapters.
I do have a Ruger 10/22 in a bullpup stock but she really dislikes it for whatever reason (I love it). And the Scorpion is awesome... but again, she really likes my AR's. But might be worth pushing a little and see if she bites. It would suit her somewhat better possibly. She does play with my M&P15-22, but wants something ' bigger'

A Sig MPX is on top of my list as well. I'm going to order a factory SBR shortly.
However, when it comes to 9mm AR's you have a couple of options. You can build one up like your typical AR, such as the Angstadtarms, which only uses a handful of proprietary parts, and uses Glock Magazines. You can buy a stripped receiver set and build at your leisure.

Another option is Quarter Circle Ten. Also based off of Glock Mags. I believe Rainier is also working with them to bring their own branded 9mm carbine/PDW to market.

Or if you can find one, you can just buy a factory Colt 6951.

lone wolf makes a dedicated 9mm lower that takes glock mags. Very favorably reviewed. You have to machine just a slice off your BCG but they will do the work if you send it to them.
