I think the new pad is a bit overkill. I liked the lowprofile old one better.

Not sure what you mean, the new one is an optional piece, the current and standard one remains standard.

I don't think there is much doubt that its an heavier piece. However, its part of the drop test requirement for the military.

The ACS, MOE+ grip and MOE handguards strike me as a near-optimal combination, and I'm pleased that these have finally reached the production stage. It's yet another promising year for Magpul -- and us.

Longer... or the newer ACS at least looks it. Is this newer itertion EMOD length?

If so, consider that my 4th carbine with only MagPul furniture.

Cost is $135 for the ACS, and $20 on the enhanced pad.

$135.00 for the ACS stock alone is an absolute bargain.

Wow.. that's a bargain for $135. I would get one just for my collection.

I don't like to clammer, but one of those will likely end up in my home.
    Thanks, Stickman.

Having no first-hand experience with 6.8mm, how would those who have experienced it compare the recoil of that configuration with the standard 5.56mm? I ask simply because the extended recoil pad strikes me as possible overkill for our most common loads, but this might be a very nice addition for a heavier round.
