    Tactical Innovations Beauty!

Courtesy of the fabulous crew at Rainier Arms. Thank you! My first piece of what will be my first AR. :) I had to throw up some pics. Not nearly as nice as what Stickman produces, but hey.

Sorry...I keep forgetting picasa does not allow hotlinking. I mean come on google.

The images aren't showing up for me. When I check the admin panel, I can see that you have pictures you are trying to post, but for some reason they aren't showing up for me.

Anyone else able to see them?

They're not allowing hot-linking. If you cut&paste the links to a new window they work fine.

Those are really nice lowers. Wish someone would have them in stock.

Very nice! I've noticed these before, and can see one or two in my future as well.

Billet lowers appeal to me for some odd reason, and I think the only one I really don't care for is the POF. The lower itself is exceptional -- to include the starboard bolt release -- and I have nothing bad to say about POF, but their proprietary trigger guard profile strikes me as rather garish. If I thought that it offered some measurable tactical advantage I would just shelve my objections, but the almost cartoonish design is hardly a necessity.

On the other hand, the TII interpretation is a work of art, right down to the finishing details, and would go extremely well with an MUR-based upper. Speaking of uppers, Stick, who makes the upper that appears mounted to the TII in these two (1, 2) images in the guide section? It is reminiscent of a VLTOR design, but clearly isn't a standard MUR.

Yep, I like that TII lower. Essential? No, but very, very cool. :)

I plan on building my upper on a MUR...or maybe a VIS. I hope I can get it all together before anything crazy happens. :)

    Is it google or Wevo?

I also use picasa and have never had a problem at ARF, but it doesn't work here; go figure...

Not sure why it would be an issue, it shouldn't be.

If I had to guess, I'd say it was a Sun Devil upper. Specifically, one of the (new?) rarely seen versions with a brass deflector & F/A.

As far as I'm concerned, Sun Devil should dump the slick side model, and produce FA versions as their main upper.

I'm not sure they listen real well to outside input, or even take it into consideration.

This begs the larger question: to FA, or not to FA?

When I saw the MUR offered without it, and I began hearing more and more reputable riflemen discussing the fact that they considered it to be of no advantage, well ... you can imagine how that sounded to a career Soldier who has been told time and again that the FA is the answer to pretty much every AR problem extant. LOL

Why would I run a non-FA upper, really? Granted, I like the less-obtrusive MUR FA configuration, but going without entirely? That's just a real leap of faith for me. Thoughts?

Tracking on the Sun Devil receiver now -- they don't make it easy to track it down via their web site, but in the one view I did find, it's a positive match. Is a billet upper guide in the works? It might be enlightening to see this compared to the MUR.

Yeah, Sun Devil's website is less than comprehensive.

Not a reason in the world I can think of for buying a non-FA upper. I use my FA on a regular basis when I am doing chamber/ press checks. I also use it when I am chambering a round quietly.
