    Unhappy Bobro Vertical Grips?

Does anyone have an idea when Rainier is going to have the Bobro shorty grip back in stock? I was waiting until I had financially recovered from Xmas to make my purchase, and now they are out of stock on both versions.

I just ordered the full length version from Bobro directly. Looks like they have the shorty in stock as well.

Shipping was quick and so were the confirmation/shipping emails.

Bravo Company has the shorty VFG in stock. I saw it while cruising their site today.

Not sure if this has been asked, but I was looking through Magpul's website at their XTM rail covers and the pic here looks like a Bobro vertical grip in TAN (FLAT DARK EARTH) color.

Does the Bobro VFG come in FDE/Tan?

I could be wrong, or they could have painted it, but it would be cool to have one in that color.

I cut that grip down back when Bobro only had the large size VFGs, and they were looking at making a shorter version. When I am shooting images for companies, I try to include things that work from my own point of view, or things that interest me. I cut it down, sprayed it with tan Krylon (from their camo series), used it for awhile, and when I decided that I liked the overall size/ length enough to show it in pictures, I shot the image and the rest is history.

Its not a standard production item, but the Krylon look works for me.

Below is a picture that shows it on a complete weapon.

    Stick,

I had to figure that was one of your pics. So I got the manufacturer of the grip correct even though you customized it by cutting it down and painting it? Nice look. Too bad more accessories were available in Magpul color schemes. I could always paint something though. Thanks.

Curious that Magpul hasn't just entered the VFG market themselves; not that they have any compelling need to do this (or even the production capacity to attempt it), but this still strikes me as a glaring omission from their lineup. They would sell a lot of these simply because of who is making them -- and not to be too AR-boutiquey here, but an FDE variant would be especially welcome.

They very likely never will. With the offerings of the great Bobro, Tangodown and LaRue grips they'd just be reinventing the wheel.

if you can't find it in the magpul exact color, here's a way to make it very close

i thought the same since they specialize in polymer stuff and a polymer vfg is natural. maybe tangodown just has that all polymer market locked down.

I agree, I have often wished that Magpul made the vfg's with a decent attachment system. Not that looks are the be-all and end-all of the discussion, but I just never liked the looks of the tangodown vfg, and I much prefer the attachment method of the Bobro. And since every other piece of plastic on my AR is Magpul in FDE, it would have been very nice to have a matching vfg. But I am very, very happy with my Bobro. Keep in mind that the Bobro's compartment is not watertight, so if you want to keep something moisture-sensitive in it, you'll want to wrap it in something. Small price to pay for that level of quality though.
