I'm thinking I'll make a similar move, hopefully before the end of this year.

I don't hate it yet. That mag catch needs to not be gray. This one's gonna get beat on, so I'll vote it most likely to get rattle canned.

Got these two in the mail recently. I've been critical of ACOGS in the past because of eye-relief, but I've decided to give them another shot because there so light compared to other magnified optics.

Do give a review on that LCO when you get a chance. Curious how it compares to Aimpoint and MRO.

WTF? every time I post it, it shows up upside down. Original photo is correct, link is correct...???

Screw it... going for more Scotch. Y'all can figure out it's an annealing machine.

I'm planning on trying it out with a new rifle I have coming in on monday. Will try to get pics and initial impressions up after that point.

My mail call this week: a replacement Griffin barrel nut. When they say do NOT torque over 50lbs, they mean it!

What exactly happened to the barrel nut? Now you got me curious. I've never heard of anyone breaking a barrel nut.

The Griffin nut wrench wrench stripped the notches as you can see in the pic. I recorded 58lbs when it failed. The risk of using aluminum barrel nuts that need to be timed. My electric torque wrench didn't beep at the preset for some reason. Griffin nut wrench was fine.

You put enough rifles together, eventually something like this happens to the best of us.

Indeed. Not if but when. It was only a $45 mistake for an otherwise great handguard.

The scratches around the threaded QD holes are from wrenching hard to get it off the old fashioned way.
