From what I've heard it for use with "New" Ar15 type weapons and other weapons that use 223/556. HK416 SCAR etc. That being said I'll probably start buying them even though I don't own the weapon systems yet. It's always good to plan ahead especially b/c they still work in good ol' ARs

I think they'll be popular domestically simply because they are export mags. They really do look different from the other Magpul mags.

Bigcoastie is pretty much on the money here. The different profile enables the EMAG to work in weapon systems -- especially non-AR weapon systems -- that were not especially compatible with the standard PMAG.

The new fs2k with the rail system does look somewhat appealing.
