    Replacing my 512

I have to replace my 512 on my duty rifle. Are any of you using a MRO on a work gun? Do you think it will hold up better that a Aimpoint pro?

I am replacing the 512 on my duty gun next month. I plan on getting an Aimpoint PRO. I looked at the MRO and I have heard about returns for damaged battery casing/compartments. Unless something drastically changes over the next month I will be getting the Aimpoint.

For duty use, I'd pass on the MRO. The PRO is a proven commodity.

The pro or even the ACO are pretty solid options.

If you poke around a bit you can get a really decent price on a PRO. Until the issues with the MRO are sorted out, I'd stick with Aimpoint.

I have done a lot more reading since this post. I am going to buy a pro from ADM with a mount. I wish aimpoint made a circle dot reticle.

Me too. I really like the EOTech reticle. I'm running EXPS3-0 on a couple of the SBR uppers and a PRO on one. Then I bought another PRO from Optics Planet Black Friday - $377 and free shipping. Nothing to put it on (yet) but couldn't pass it up. Convinced Brenda to get me an MI QD for the PRO as a Christmas present. Will do a brief writeup and a couple of pix when the mount gets here.

Pro is good, t1 or t2 in 2moa is better.

    Mro still needs vetting.

    Replacing my 512

What VDM said......if you look around people are selling T1s at good prices. LWRC had a promotion that if you bought a rifle you got s free T1. I bought one brand new off a guy that didn't want it for 495$.......he had 2.

Add: If interested I have a line on another.... Let me know.

I'm a fan of the EOTech reticle as well, but my go-to recommendation for a patrol rifle optic is the Aimpoint PRO. There were some great Black Friday deals, but keep your eyes open for similar ones.

Now that EoTech is offering to buy back people's EoTechs at full retail, I'm sure you'll have plenty of cash for that PRO.

I've seen one arfcom post about a guy's MRO battery compartment crapping out, and it's seeming more like his was a return that somebody else may have messed up. Any other reports that I just can't find?

I have seen this mentioned in several places. It does appear to be the same photo of the MRO battery compartment.

    Replacing my 512

Trijicon for whatever reason cheesed out on the material that holds battery in place. If you don't put it in there just right it damages the little metal tangs and as a result causes problems with battery connectivity.
