Didn't Geissele do a branded raptor there for awhile? I guess they got tired of paying royalties to AXTS

Indeed they did. Seemed like everyone did at one point. All four of mine are Rainier Arms branded.

Unless I'm missing something, this design doesn't do anything for me over a standard raptor (which I love and have several).

Im much more interested in the Griffin Snach

The charging handle market is pretty saturated.

With that said, the raptor CH changed the game, the RA Avalanche blinged the game out with 20" rims.

Unless a CH does something super non-standard it is just a regular charging handle at this point.

Yeah, but this CH definitely gets some style points. I'm fine with having more options for my builds!

Like anything Geissele builds, I'm sure this will be a tank. Looks like it will also do well to mitigate some gasses coming back at the shooter for suppressed guns. Looking forward to my sample.

I mean, yeah, "style points" is good.

I might buy one just to add to a build I'll be using a geissele rail on, just you know, to match.

But otherwise, its the same as an OEM one...

My first charging handle was a raptor... it was great. Nothing wrong with it in any way. I sold it though to a forum member here.

That said the SNACH is on another level if you ask me. It's definitely robust and a pleasure to use. It's more robust IMO than the Raptor.

As far as effectiveness of keeping gas out of your face... I don't really have anything to test it against anymore but it seems like it works fine.

I've been doing some homework on this stuff and I think it depends largely on the gun you put it on and the type of ammo used. The back pressure and as the griffin guys say 'popping the cork' ie the bullet leaving the muzzle on an 18" gun is at a far different level than the pressure of the bullet leaving a 10.5" or other shorter barrel.

A 20" barrel has half the PSI of a 10.5" barrel as well as twice the internal volume and twice the distance...so all that will come into play with how 'effective' the SNACH will be at diverting gasses.

I know on my 16" gun I haven't even had a whisper of gas hitting me in the face. I think it's a combination of the ammo, the can, the barrel length and possibly other stuff....

But the SNACH is definitely a good charging handle....

After talking my buddy at Geissele, I don't think this is one of those earth shattering "game changing" products. Just another choice in the market. I doubt anyone will be swapping their existing charging handles with this. Hard to do at $90 a pop.

Geissele Automatics T1 Mount & Charging Handle

Wasn't $90 about the price point where raptors were introduced?

Edit: I'm single and work too much so I don't spend my money on much other than food and gun parts. I'm bound to inevitably grab one of these as long as they stay under $100. Though I'll probably wait awhile.
