If you want lightweight, look at Faxon pencil barrels. 17.5oz for 14.5 and 19oz for 16". Not designed for precision once heated up but if your purpose is short range defensive, you're in biz.

Typically, when you build a LW gun, comparable parts are only saving a few ounces, but when the entire gun is put together, the totality of the savings is where it's at.

Having said that, I'm not a fan of LW builds.

Okay, back to the grind and thinking about when this set will arrive. Haha.

Cool thing is I got to play with BCM's new SOPMOD stock against the IMOD. While I still think the IMOD is better looking I'll probably go with the BCM to save face hairs.

I haven't handled the SOPMOD version of BCM's stock, but i really like Mod 0 stock. I wasn't keen on it's looks at first, but it's grown on me.

Me either on looks. I think the SOPMOD looks better. I was lucky enough to try them side by side at SHOT and find the new one feels better and looks better.

Since the BCM stock is modular in design, i wonder if the cheek rest pieces will be available for purchase by themselves for retrofit to existing stocks.

Few crappy cell pics taken just now. Upper is waiting to head to cerakote which is why gas block looks slightly canted. Everything is on loose. Sorry for the lighting. But you get the idea.

Picked up my SMOS parts yesterday! The lower is halfway complete so far with a set of titanium BAD-EPS, BAD-ASS safety, MOE K2+ grip, and LMT buffer assembly. I haven't decided on a trigger or stock but I will probably go with an MFT Minimalist and Geissele SD-C. Also ordering a Forward Controls EMR-C and polished ABC/R-F next week.

Thanks! It's all black, I'm still trying to figure out Photoshop and it came out a little gray. If I would've posted the original pics y'all would be asking if I Cerakoted everything blue lol!

I actually have been considering getting it cerakoted a Titanium/Dark Gray finish, similar to the bottom pic. I'm tempted to do it but you just can't go wrong with black...

It looks awesome grey, you had me thinking... haha.

This is going to be a "purdy" build for me. Not just functional so I'm considering cerakote too.
