Kalashnikov USA is sketch. Unless they've changed their sources, there was a lot of distrust of their product when they first popped up. Plus people weren't happy with their naming.
Atlantic Firearms is importing a 9mm AK that I'd probably look at first, as the parts are actually from FSB sources, as I understand it.

Kalashnikov USA is sketchy. I like the looks of the new rifle but no swappable grip is a fail.

I assumed that Kalash USA was some kind of franchise that the Kalashnikov Concern (similar to IWI and IMI) spun up once importation of Russian firearms was banned. Please correct me if I'm wrong though. I've never heard about Kalash USA until this SHOT show.
If anybody has more info on the corp, I would be interested to know.

That's been part of the problem/complaint with Kalashinkov USA. They're cashing in on that assumption. They're are not part of Kalashnikov Concern and have even been sued (or at least challenged) by the Concern. I'm going off of memory here, so take it for what it's worth, but I believe there's also been some question about their parts sourcing (ie, not Russian or even FSB). Is that a bad thing? Time will tell, as Pyzyik mentioned (pedigree), but they are not associated with the conventional Saiga/Concern apparatus.

It really has nothing to do with Izmash or Concern other than the name.
It's just an American company who was smart about the naming of their plant.

Ahhh .... interesting. Speaking of which, this was just posted: Kalashnikov USA at SHOT Show
IV8888 also did a quick video regarding these new AKs too:
... it will be interesting to see what happens if sanctions are lifted against Kalashnikov Concern.
