Although, from what I've read and watched the RIP ammo isn't even that good for a SD/HD type round; all just marketing hype.

That's what I was wondering... marketing hype. I wouldn't touch the RIP ammo if you paid me. Well, maybe if you paid me a lot. Altho an expanding slug would not be a bad thing... claims of over 2½" in diameter after expanded, if true, would be devastating.

Getting hit with a regular 12 guage slug would be bad enough.... Just saying... LOL
